Titan's Coatings Process in Augusta, GA
Proper preparation, materials that use the latest coatings technology, and expert application are essential to the longevity of your concrete floor coating.
At Titan Concrete Coatings we know that concrete preparation is the most important part to ensure a good bond therefore we pride ourselves on using the best concrete diamond grinding prep equipment and tooling available. Also, we don’t use low-quality inferior materials or floor paint that peels and chips off within a few months of application, we use cutting-edge Polyurea, Polyaspartic, Epoxy, and Urethane coating technologies. Then to complete the meticulous process our highly trained technicians apply the materials following strict guidelines to ensure the proper spread rates and materials thickness are achieved. This extensive process is the key to providing you with a concrete floor coating that will look great and last decades.
Step 1 – Surface Preparation
We prepare the surface by diamond grinding which allows us to achieve the proper concrete surface profile required by the material manufacturer to ensure a good bond to the concrete.
Step 2 – Concrete Repair
We use diamond grinders, shot blasters, and needle scalers to clean and profile the damaged areas of the concrete. We then repair any cracks, pitting, spalls, chips, etc. using our Polyurea Concrete Mender mixed with a Silica/Quartz sand to create a strong, long-lasting repair.
Step 3 – Primer/Binder/Basecoat
We apply our Polyurea/Polyaspartic self-priming basecoat using a squeegee followed by a backroll to achieve the proper mil thickness. This material will soak deep into the pores and capillaries of the concrete creating an inseparable bond ensuring that it will never peel up.
Step 4 – Broadcasting the Polymer Chips/Flakes
Once the basecoat is applied we now broadcast the polymer chips/flakes into the wet Polyurea/Polyaspartic basecoat. The chips/flakes will soak into the basecoat creating a beautiful granite-like finish while also creating texture. We have endless color options for this process.
Step 5 – Reclaiming and Scraping the Polymer Chips/Flakes
After the basecoat has cured we now blow all of the loose chips/flakes into a pile and reclaim them. Once all chips/flakes are reclaimed we now take steel scrapers and scrape the chips/flakes in all directions to ensure they are all laying flat and are ready for the topcoat.
Step 6 – Applying the Topcoat
Now that all the chips/flakes are scraped we thoroughly vacuum the entire area. We then apply our Polyaspartic Clear Topcoat by squeegees followed by an immediate backroll/crossroll to ensure even coverage. This coat will encapsulate all the chips/flakes, strengthen the system, and provide a wear layer that is durable, easy to maintain, and will last for years to come.
